Description:

KZN – The birthplace of conservation in South Africa!

This tour is designed to show you the very best of the wildlife in the Kwa-Zulu Natal Province of South Africa. It’s a province rich in history, wildlife and spectacular landscape from the Drakensberg Mountain Range to the Indian Ocean.

Home to the oldest game reserve in South Africa, The Hluhluwe Imfolozi Park, KZN offers attractions far beyond the Big 5 with its spectacular coastline teaming with a massive variety of wildlife too.

We have meticulously handpicked the finest lodges and camps to ensure we are able to customize your tour to suit your personal needs and expectations.

These lodges are largely located in, but not limited to, the And Beyond Phinda, Manyoni and Nambiti private game reserves, Isimangaliso Wetland Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve. The diversity from area to area is vast and guests can enjoy completely different experiences from place to place.

For history lovers this is the heart of the Zulu Kingdom and you can expect some fascinating historical anecdotes during your trip!

All the lodges we use work on an all-inclusive style basis where your accommodation, meals, drinks and game drives are all included. You can put your feet up and relax, knowing that everything is taken care of.

Itinerary:

A typical safari will see you visiting a few private lodges, staying 2-3 nights at each. This will be customized to your preference.

A day at one of these extraordinary lodges plays out as follows:

  • A typical day begins with a wakeup call from your private guide and tea and coffee before setting off on a thrilling morning drive.

  • The drives last between 3-4 hours and are sensational! Your best chance of viewing the wildlife up close and having very special encounters that you will certainly remember forever.

  • Breakfast is usually a spectacle and well-deserved after surely a productive morning on drive.

  • The middle of the day is yours to relax and use the lodge’s facilities whether it’s the spa or swimming pool. A nap is often quite a popular option after all the excitement, early mornings and fresh air.

  • Lunch and high teas are served in the afternoon before we set out yet again for an afternoon drive.

  • This drive lasts until dark where one can expect to see the nocturnal wildlife, most notably the predators, come to life.

  • Dinner is a time to share stories of the day around a fire and tuck in to some mouthwatering dishes often served in a buffet style.

  • Some dinners are also held in the traditional African boma where we can enjoy our meal seated around a big fire and protected by a large traditional fence. The ambiance is magical!

  • After a long and fruitful day you can retire to your private rooms where luxury and comfort awaits. After all you need a good night’s rest after such an exhilarating day!
